Stretch Logic: SnapPlugs Series 1 Stretching Plugs: 4g to 0g

A systematic solution to common stretching problems.

Each SnapPlug should be worn about 3 months, before moving to the next stretch.

A quick glance at the concept.
SnapPlugs were designed and created by a body piercer who analyzed current stretching methods and sought to find a solution to common problems often associated with stretching a piercing. A series of SnapPlugs consists of 10 individual 'plugs' that insert steps in between the traditional sizes. Each SnapPlug has a circumference increase of about 1mm, making each stretch gentle, easy and pain free. SnapPlugs also interlock with each other and have a built in “Transition Ramp” - Making the transfer from one SnapPlug to the next as easy and smooth as possible. No more blowouts. No more painful stretches.

SnapPlugs Series 1 helps you stretch from 4g to 0g.

2 Boxes: Each box contains 1 set of 10 SnapPlugs - One set for each ear.

It's all about the circumference!
The idea is really simple. When it comes to stretching, it is all about the circumference. By using small and even changes in circumference between one SnapPlug to the next, a safer and more comfortable stretch is realized while reducing the risk of damage and blowouts.

Let us look at an example: Stretching a piercing with jewelry that changes by only 1mm in diameter, would result in about a 3mm change in circumference. In comparison, to stretch a piercing by 1mm in diameter using SnapPlugs, it would require about three stretches. This is because SnapPlugs are designed with gradual, systematic changes in circumference of about 1mm, which equate to only about 0.32mm change in diameter per jump.

All other methods of stretching involve products that depend on the standard jewelry sizes that have varying changes in diameter, which result in erratic changes in circumference. Many traditional stretches require skin to stretch as much as 5mm in one stretch, which can cause a great deal of discomfort and damage to the piercing. Even plugs that have small 1mm changes in diameter, result in a stretch that is 3 times as large as a stretch with SnapPlugs.

The parts of the part.

Through meticulous design we were able to engineer a complex product that projects simplicity.

The secret to a smooth stretch.

What makes SnapPlugs a revolutionary ear stretching system is the implementation of a ‘transition ramp’. The transition ramp is a slightly tapered end located at the back of the plug at the widest part, so it can sit flush with the next plug in the series. Since SnapPlugs only have a 1mm circumference increase, the transition ramp helps ensure a smooth, painless stretch each and every time.

One try is all you need, no lost connections.

An important concept that professional body piercers understand is to keep a tight connection between the tools being used to stretch and jewelry. This is also true for stretching your piercings at home, so we made it easy. SnapPlugs can easily be ‘snapped’ together using minimal resistance and establish a stable connection between the two SnapPlugs. This makes stretching your ears easy, since you do not need to worry about taking jewelry out or trying to purchase and use professional body piercing tools.

The wearable area of a plug is the distance between flares or flare and O-ring. The gauge is the diameter of the plug.

Steel Navel web how do you measure the gauge and wearable area of double flared plugs?

The gauge is the thickness of the jewelry (Usually the thickness of the material the jewelry is made from but may also be the diameter of a plug or eyelet).  From 20 gauge to 00 gauge, the smaller the number is, the thicker the jewelry is. After 00 gauge, the diameter of body jewelry is usually measured in fractional inches as shown below; however, some manufacturers make 000 gauge and 0000 gauge jewelry.

Millimeters are rounded to the first decimal.
