Body Jewelry Size Reference

Gauge Sizes
The gauge is the thickness of the jewelry (Usually the thickness of the wire the jewelry is made from but may also be the diameter of a plug or eyelet). From 20 gauge to 00 gauge, the smaller the number is, the thicker the jewelry is. After 00, the diameter of body jewelry is usually measured in fractional inches as shown below.

Captive Bead Ring Size
	The size of all types of rings is the inside diameter of the ring. The gauge is the thickness of the wire.
Straight Barbell Size
	Straight barbell size is the linear length of the bar between the balls. The gauge is the thickness of the wire..
Bent Barbell & Bent Doorknocker Size
	Bent barbells, also known as curved barbells or banana bells, are measured in a straight line between where the lip of each ball meets the bar on the inside of the curve. Measure the distance between the top and bottom holes of your piercing to determine the length you need. The gauge is the thickness of the wire.
Circular Barbell Size
	Circular barbells get their size from the inside diameter of the ring similar to captive bead rings. The gauge is the thickness of the wire.
Doorknocker & Jackhammer Size
	Like straight barbells, doorknockers and jackhammers are sized according to the linear length of the bar between the two balls. The gauge is the thickness of the wire.
Labret Size
	Labrets are measured from the disk to the ball along the length of the bar. The gauge is the thickness of the wire.
Lippy Loop Size
	Lippy Loops come in two sizes with many end variations. All lippy loops are regular size unless specified as small. Please consult the measurements to determine if a Lippy Loop will fit your labret piercing. The gauge is the thickness of the wire. Regular Lippy Loop Measurements: A = 3/8" B = 5/8" C = 7/16" Small Lippy Loop Measurements: A = 1/4" B = 3/8" C = 3/8"
Plug Size
	The size of a plug is the distance between the o-rings. The gauge is the diameter of the plug.
Spool Size
	The size of spools, eyelets, flesh tunnels, etc. is the wearable distance between the flares or edges and the o-ring. The gauge is the diameter.
Septum Spike Size
	Septum spike size is the length of the bar between the spikes. The gauge is the thickness of the wire.
Pincher Size
	The size of pinchers is measured as the inside diameter. The gauge is the thickness of the pincher at the thickest point (top).
Helix or Spiral Size
	The size of helix or spiral barbells is measured as the inside diameter. The gauge is the thickness of the wire.
