This economical circular barbell is internally threaded. Both balls unscrew but they are not counter sunk. If you are looking for the highest quality barbell go with a name brand like Industrial Strength.

This is a great product. I love the internal threading because it keeps the irritation down on sensitive areas. the only problem I had was that I didn't tighten down the ends tight enough and lost one of the balls so make sure you tighten them down!
