Default It's done!

Well, got my septum pierced today. Happened to run into my piercer at the roller derby on saturday night and she told me to see her today.

I kind of wanted it at 10ga, but she gave her last 10ga retainer to one of her tattoo artists, so it ended up being a 12. Fine by me, i'll just stretch it later. We used a black anodized nobium retainer which I have flipped up. I'll take some pictures when I flip it down, and then again when it's healed enough to put different jewelry in it.

I have to say that if you're worried about getting your septum pierced because you need to hide it then a black retainer is basically invisible in your nose. I was standing in front of the mirror LOOKING FOR IT and I couldn't see it.

She re-marked it at least 4 times to get it just right. The clamps didn't hurt but weren't comfortable either. The pain was not nearly as bad as I expected but my eyes did water when the needle went through. I barely felt the jewelry go in (she's a damn good piercer) and the pain went away almost immediately.

It's been a few hours and it dosn't hurt. I just have this weird feeling of something in my nose. I guess i'll get used to it. I'll let you guys know how the healing and stretching goes. It's probably going to end up around 8 ga.

Later.

Yay, for secret holey noses!

Happy healing. Sea salt soaks in shot glasses is fun!

Congratulations on the new piercing! The fact that you can hide the septum piercing is kind of turning me onto the idea of getting mine done!

YOU TOTALLY SHOULD!!!!!

serously, right after she did it I TRIED looking for it. I can't see it unless I tilt my head back, flare my nostrils, and shine a flashlight up my nose.

My retainer is matte black, but you couldn't see it even if it was shiny. No way anybody will ever know.

I highly recomend you do it!

And it barely hurt at all.

I have a friend who has her septum pierced. And as PiercedinPittsburgh said, you can't even see the jewelry when it's flipped up. My friend has a steel circular barbell in it and even though it's silver and shiny as steel is, you can't see it at all. (I suppose if you looked up her nose it could be seen, but who's gonna do that ) If you want the piercing, go for it !

Hmmm... That'll definitely be my next piercing. I just got my nipples done less than a month ago (second time). I want those to heal a bit before I consider getting another piercing. :-)

Healing is going really well. I really can't feel it anymore, and the only time there's any kind of pain is if I accidentally roll over onto my nose while sleeping.

This is definately a cool piercing and anyone thet's on the fence about it should consider getting it done.

I can't wait until it's healed enough to stretch. Until then it's cool having a secret percing. I'm thinking about getting a tounge web now.....Why?

Because it serves no purpose and it can be another one of my "secret" piercings.

If you decide to look for a more comfortable retianer, I suggest these from wildcat:

* Please do not post links to other online shops. If you want to share, send it in a pm.
Thanks.

They're super cheap and they don't tickle your nose hairs as much, and make nose-picking that much easier. I bought 5 last time I ordered from wildcat and I've still got 4 brand new ones, actually. I've never seen them offered anywhere else.

Thanks. You might have to PM me the link so I can check them out. Right now the 12 gauge is healing well. It's been 5 days and it dosn't hurt at all. It's a little sore if I flip it down.

I got my 10 gauge taper back off my brother. Now it's just the waiting game.

I tried sea salt soaks, but tryng to get it up my nose has not worked out well at all. The best way i've been able to clean it is with q tips and either hot sea salt or mild antibacterial soap.

Can't wait to stretch. The 12 gauge looks tiny in my huge schnoz
