Talking Septum Stretching Fun - And OWWW!

Well my septum stretching seemed to stall out about a year ago. Evertime I tried to taper, I'd get it halfway through before it seemed too tight.

I've always heard that septum stretching is never fun, so I thought I'd give it another go, but would take my time with it this time. Its not a lobe, and maybe I shouldn't have been treating it like one.

So last night as we settled down to listen to our bedtime story - my son is almost 6 - I lubed up my new 6g IS taper, slid it as far as it wanted to go, and just relaxed with it.

After story, I lubed a little more, and advanced it a titch more. Kept doing that a bit at a time and then leaving it alone, for the next hour or so.

When I had only a thumb's worth to go - by which I mean, the last joint on my thumb - I grabbed my little bullet septum keeper and headed for the bathroom. By this time, my nose was running and it was mighty stingie.

Perhaps unwise to continue, but I have wanted this for so long now, and I was so close that I kept on. Kept adding lube and now used the keeper to advance the taper. Then the eye watering began, and I felt like that last little millimeter was just not going to go.

When the taper popped off and I could only see the least edge of the little plug, I thought it would be all for naught, but continued lubing a little and pushing at the edge til it was all the way through.

So, I may feel like I have a clown nose, with a slightly swollen top lip this morning - I am at 6g and happy for it. Advil and sea salt soaks are my best friends.

And to clarify - I don't look swollen, I just feel like it.

I always get carried away with stretching when I am not able to get a new piercing for too long a period. Don't follow my lead. Its probably unwise.

I am sure I will come back in 3 weeks or so to whine about the new bump in my septum - but since I don't plan to stretch again, I am not too concerned.

And I am at 6g!! Woo-hoo!!!

Not sure whether to spank you or hug you.

Congratulations!

If you decide to hug me, just be gentle with the nose, ok.

Good work Deb! Congrats!

P.S. The new LeRoi black niobium septum retainers have arrived. I'm trying to get them up on the site before Tuesday.

Well now ya know what ya gotta do.

Still taking ibuprofen, still feel like I've been bopped in the nose. Sea salt soaks once a day.

So when you are up for it, pick up a taper.

Now, I did attempts at stretching last year. I did my regular lobe stretching technique - where I'd pass the taper till i got resistance, then I'd stop and try again in 2 weeks.

Don't know if that helps make it more "ready" or not. just what I did.
