Default What made you want to stretch your piercings.. (if you're stretched)?

I'm just wondering what made you want to start stretching..

I basically got tired of the $3 hoops from Target rusting in my ears, so I decided to "stretch" up to 16g so that I could wear high-quality body jewelry that wouldn't deteriorate. So far, so good!

*I say "stretch" because I didn't even have to use a taper - they just slid in with a little bit of pressure!

I'm about to start stretching for similar reasons -- tired of cheap store post earrings and hoops irritating the hell out of my ears, even the ones that swear up and down that they're nickel-free ss. I'm not sure if my sensitivity is just getting worse or if it's that the earrings I have were all coated and the coating's wearing thin/off/down to low-grade metal. Regardless, I want to at least be able to wear high-quality body jewelry in them when they're acting up. Then after talking with a few people, I've found that stretching up to 14g isn't really noticeable when the earrings are out and you can still wear regular earrings if you want to ... so I could be able to delve into some of those gorgeous hanging organics without sacrificing my big [cheap] earring collection.

I had the same problem with cheap earrings... My ears would get so irretated after a few days of having them in... Ever since I've been stretched I've never had a problem with my ears!

I really liked the look of stone plugs and wanted to be able to wear them. SInce I work with animals, I generally can't wear the dangly things, though I love them too, so I have lots and lots of plugs.

Thats a bit fast. Does it hurt or bleed when you stretch? The rule of thumb is one stretch per six months. For me it took 3 years to get from 6g to 2g. (They were particularly difficult for me.)

For me, that would be too fast simply because that doesn't give me enough time to enjoy my jewelry in each of those sizes.

I'm currently at 8g, stretching to 0g. I've been doing one stretch every 2 months, which is working great for me.

I've never really been into jewellery until I discovered plugs/organics & hanging designs for stretched ears. While looking into stretching I've developed a fascination with it and really like it!

In one word: Organics. I love the way organic body jewelry looks, which is why I decided to stretch. I'm stretching my first set of lobe piercings to 14g. Why the small size? I think smaller sizes look better with my face, and ear anatomy. Plus, I don't like really heavy earrings. But I do love the way big stretches look on other people.
