Default Increase of Nipple Ring Size

I'd like to have some input on what's the size limit I can go on increasing a nipple ring size.[?]
I had a 12g 5/8 diameter circular captive bead ring piercing 2 years ago. Can I increase the size to a 10g, 1" circular barbell? Or is that a bit much? I'm an average sized guy, I suppose, so I'm wondering how big is safe to go for a nipple before I give it a try.
Thanks!

Well, after getting info from reading more forums and peoples experiences about stretching, I bit the bullet and went to the piercing studio where I got my intial piercing. The gal who pierced me was was on maternity leave so it was going to be me doing this to myself afterall with whatever I ended up getting.
I wasn't sure the gauge of the CBR I had in, thinking it was afterall a 14g. What surprised was the exited feeling I had when the girl told me it was a 12 and I could go to a 10g! So, I ended up with what they had in stock a 10g 3/4" circular barbell and a nice new taper.
So, tomorrow it goes in. I'm chicken tonight.

Well, I got it in!
It was really simple afterall. I got in the shower and ran hot water over my chest. I hand stretched the nipple a little like I had done for the previous 2-3 days by pulling gently on the ring. I figured that would help with a little headstart. I washed the area with Satin anti-bacteria cleanser rotating the ring a bit, then removed the current ring.
I put a little Satin on the end of the taper and inserted. I stopped a couple of times when the stretch just began to hurt a bit and let it rest. Added a little water to keep it slippery. Once the stretch had reached 3/4 to the end of the taper I tagged the new ring on to the taper insert end and slid the ring through. Nothing to it! Acutally, the hardest part was getting the second ball screwed in! After that I put a third one in between the two. Looks good.
I love this new gauge. Especially love how now with the new size and weight it jiggles a bit when I move around. Feels good.

samjon - I'm serious considering piercing my nipples and was wondering if after your piercing if you nipple grew larger and/or are more sensitive? Thanks for you input

Yep, bigger. I only have one pierced, so the difference in size is easy to see.

Currently @ 8g...I've been up to 6, but didn't care for the larger diameter ring that required.

Not sure I know what "small" is...just your average itty bitty boy titties, I guess... In any case, you should be able to get up to 10g, at least, and you will find that to be quite a bit more comfortable.

If your piercing has healed to the point where there is [i]no[i] (none!) tenderness, even after a little roughness, then you're a candidate for a stretch. Otherwise, be patient. I err on the conservative side, and think about 6 months between stretches is about right, and probably twice that following the initial piercing. Nipples take a long time to find their place in the universe.

Ugh. Sorry to hear that. I hope it heals well (and quickly !). Do you use emu oil ? It might help with healing.

I currently wear a ring in my nipple, but have also had a barbell. Barbells are far less prone to those kind of accidents, and thus, much easier to heal new, or in this case torn, piercings with.

Also, it seems like smaller diameter (not gauge) rings get banged around less. Mine is 3/8"x6g, and has'nt caused any problems yet.

I actually caught my boobage yesterday on a book. Barbell.

I tend to catch it, or bang it on something at least once a week at work.

But at home, I was braless and in a think tank top. Didn't check it for bleeding, but it hurt enough that I should have.

Wishing you speedy re-healing - and no migration.

Sucks about that. I can't see it taking 9 months to heal. That's a really long time.

When I started working construction again I stretched mine from 16 to 12 ga to help keep them from getting ripped. I had one really painful experience when a circular saw fell off a top shelf, caught my nipple, and landed on my foot. Nobody knew about my piercings and I had to put pressure on it to stop bleeding and bandage it for the rest of the day.

My ex girlfriend ripped one of hers completely out while I was at work. I guess she was cleaning the house without a shirt and she caught it on part of the sweeper. I got a frantic call from work and had to go running out the door. It looked like a pacman nipple. I called the ER and they said they couldn't do anything for it besides bandage it and I should bandage it reallty tight.

So we keept it bandaged for a week or so and the two sides healed back together. At first there was a noticeable "split" in her nipple but as time went on you couldn't really tell. It just looked normal. We never pierced that one again, though we did throw the idea around of a vertical. That poor nipple went through enough.

Good luck with your healing, let us all know how it goes.
