Anyone interested in heavier work? Be it tongue splits, implants, or I suppose some people can consider scarification and branding heavy work.
I like them all, just not sure which is for me. |

I've thought about getting my tongue split, but I don't know. I think it depends on how big I can stretch my tongue piercing; once I get to that size I'll decide.

Cool.
I have been thinking about tongue split as well. Just not sure who to get to do it and a host of other issues. There are a lot of risks involved with it, so I am just weighing out the possibilities. |

I was going to use some fishing line to slowly split my tongue through my tongue ring hole. The tongue ring is causing my gums to recede and it would be better for my mouth health to get the tongue ring out. I still have to convince my wife it would be the best thing to do. That might take a while...[

I would suggest that you remove you tongue barbell and just get it split with aid of a professional.
The only reason being is that the tie-off method takes up to a few months to actually split your tongue. The entire process is suppose to be very painful and most people don't actually finish the split. So if you really want to split your tongue I would suggest doing it via a pro with experience and a scalpel. Or consult: http://wiki.bmezine.com/index.php/Tongue_Splitting |

Yeah, I also hear that the tie-off method doesn't really make a "clean" cut through the tongue and will appear rather jagged-looking.

Tongue splitting looks very sexy on lots of people, but as much as I like the look I don't think I would get it done. I'd rather not risk bleeding to death over vanity. (a.k.a. I'm a wuss, but at least I'm a living wuss).
I also like branding, but I think I'd rather get a tattoo - though I don't know. Brands look really good. I have a friend who has 4 huge (like over 5 inches across and wide) brands that were done cow prod style - they look good, but because they weren't done with a gun they aren't as sharp as they could be. I like to study it, but as far as doing it... I'm just too chicken to do anything like that. haha

I'd love to get a nice scarification piece or branding on my lower back. Don't think there is anybody who does that kind of work near me.

I've always liked scarification, but I haven't decided if I will or won't ever get that done. I'm more into tattoos.
