I LOVE roasted garlic. When we were in SF, we hit The Stinking Rose. YUM! I bought the cookbook and got really good at making Bagna Calda - garlic roasted in olive oil. At our dance events we're supposed to bring a covered dish, I bring a small crock pot of that. I'm lucky to get some.

A celebration of the hunt...tonight, the first of this year's venison....spagetti, red wine...I love this time of year. Camp, campfires, falling leaves, and meals cooked over wood in old cast iron cookware.

I know, I know, I'ma silly, romantic old fool...y'all can just deal.

I'll take the wine but pass on the rest.
I detest venison (actually I quit red meat a couple years ago) but hope yours was good
And I'm on the countdown until next summer. The good news is that I'll be so busy with school till then that HOPEFULLY winter will pass by quickly.
I'm going to eat some sushi next week when I'm at the south end of town for my Phi Thtea Kappa meeting. I can't wait; it's been WAY TOO LONG since I've had any.

Sounds great! The crisp ting to the air, the smell of burning wood tinged with venison.

Ahhhhhh

That sounds really good. Especially the cooking in cast iron over a wood fire.

Last night I made Risotto. Threw in some leftover meatloaf and some sausage we'd grilled over the summer (that has been taking up space in the freezer). I use a pressure cooker so it only takes 15 minutes. YUMMY!!!

Oh my goodness!! Last night we had home made scalloped potatoes with baked ham (coated in mustard and spices) and pineapple sauce. Also had green beans as the veggie and fresh wedges of tomatoes! Yuuuummmy!!! it was so good and such a nice meal after a day of packing!!
