Labret body jewelry (labret is pronounced with a hard t sound at the end) is used primarily in center lower lip piercings, side lower lip piercings, and center upper lip piercings. Labret jewelry can also be worn in the upper side lip in piercings commonly called Marilyn, Monroe, Madonna, or Chrome Crawford piercings. Many labret styles can also be used in nostrils, many ear cartilage piercings, and other piercings. Some of the materials used to make labrets include stainless steel, PVD stainless steel, titanium, glass, and 14k gold.
